Nutrition

"It is from the soil that the provision of nourishment for all life takes its start"

- Dr. William Albrecht

Good soil health depends upon many interacting processes. Water availability, soil structure, microbial activity, nutrient element availability and organic carbon are key factors in this process.

Soils with the correct balance of nutritional elements including all the macro elements (e.g., Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium etc) and micro elements (e.g. Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper, etc) and other elements like amino acids, sugars etc, ensures all plants can perform at their maximum potential.
Soils degrade over time, and lose a lot of the nutrient elements. These need to be replenished to ensure plants perform at their best.
Soil Organic Carbon which consists of fresh residues of plants, smaller fragments broken down by soil animals and microbes, need replenishing, regularly, also.

Rochedale Turf Service’s key focus is to identify ‘elements (chemical and physical) that are out of balance’, when undertaking a tissue or soil analysis.

The qualified team at Rochedale Turf Services can explain (in simple terms) the importance of balanced nutrition, and how the landscape can perform to its maximum.
