Do I need to roll my turf? 

For best results rolling immediately after watering is suggested.  Good contact between the newly laid turf and the soil is very important in quicker establishment.  Watering whilst rolling gives the best results.

 

When is the best time of year to lay new turf?

In South East Queensland, turf can be layed all year round.  The best time is when there is good soil moisture available and the likelihood of continuing rain.

 

 

What is the size of the slabs?

Each individual slab is 1.2m long x .48m wide, therefore 2 slabs = 1 square metre.

Do you lay turf?

Yes, RTS can provide a quote to lay your turf, anywhere, anytime.  The quote we provide also includes suggestions for preparation, selection of species for specific sites and maintenance programs.

 

How long will turf last before it can be laid?

We recommend immediate laying of your newly aquired turf.  During colder months we recommend to lay winthin one day of the turf being supplied.  During the hotter and wetter days, we recommend laying immediately.

Is there a minimum amount to order?

We can supply any quantity from 5 square metres upwards.  To save money, any quantities less than 100m2 its advisable to organise pickup from our farm at Rochedale.  Otherwise a minimum charge for all deliveries of less than 100m2 applies.

Do you have samples I can view before buying?

Plots of 5 species, Wintergreen, green couch, Palmetto, Blue Couch and Empire Zoysia are on display at 186 Ford Road BURBANK. Please call 3341 3777 to arrange a time to view facilities.

Do I Need to apply a specific fertiliser underneath before laying my new turf?

For the best results, its recommended to apply a balanced slow release fertiliser and a wetting agent to the soil surface prior to laying slabs of turf.  Contact RTS and they will help you with these.

 

 

What notice do I need to order turf?

Dependant upon availability.  Please allow at least one working day notice when ordering to ensure you receive your order on time.  Call office for confirmation of availability.

How is the turf delivered?

Most of the turf deliveries are done with a crane truck.  Each delivery is divided into pallets of turf.  Each pallet can contain quantities of up to 50 square metres.

How much is freight?

Freight costs are totally dependant upon quantity and destination location.  Ask office when ordering, as RTS has variable rates which apply to various quantities.
