For established turf areas
We recommend a maintenance process based on systematic applications
of:
1. Soil test and Nutrition Analysis Report (NAR)
2. Amended fertilizers including organic carbon and balanced nutrients
(as all fields offer different requirements) x two applications
per annum.
3. Stamina G (commercial strength soil wetting agent) x 4 applications
per annum.
4. An annual aeration treatment.
5. An annual input of organic & mineral based loam.
Our approach
Rochedale Turf’s approach is to improve both the physical
and biological properties of the root environment. As shown above
the proposal consists of five sections which are all part of our
recommended procedure. All steps need to be undertaken to achieve
the desired results. This process needs to be undertaken regularly
to sustain strong healthy turf grass.
Our Recommended Procedure
Rochedale Turf’s recommended procedure is based upon the
concept of constant improvement of the soil profile. This is by
way of incorporating organic carbon (not sand!) and a once a year
opening up of the soil profile. Balanced nutrients and an organic
wetting agent are then systematically applied. Incorporation of
our organic wetting agent evenly throughout the year ensures a
greater holding capacity in the soil for water and nutrients that
will penetrate close to the root system.
Our Team
Rochedale Turf’s team of qualified Horticulturists have
the expertise to ensure that the nutritional value of the soil
is continually monitored and improved. We will be undertaking
nutritional analysis reports on soil samples taken twice per year
on all areas to enable us to monitor exactly what is happening
at the root zone. There will be NO guess work.
Weed Growth
With a balanced nutritional programme, potential weed growth is
suppressed (again a result of good husbandry).
Improved Drainage
Soils that have better physical properties and have balanced nutrition
will naturally drain more efficiently.
Wear Resistance
A playing surface is substantially improved over time with our
recommended process of continual improvement of the soil environment.
Sand grains because of their physical nature tend to shear roots
when moving against each other. It is also a well known fact that
sand has no nutritional value.
Bare Areas
In bare areas, we recommend the preparation of new beds
and the laying of new turf or
stolons.
We do not support the approach of applying sand only to any playing
field. Please refer to the Sports
Turf Research Institute of the United Kingdom.
Rochedale Turf recommends the application of enriched organic
soils that supply nutrition and water saving ability. Click here

procedure for existing turf areas. For
